Weapons are items in House of Ashes that the protagonists have or can find to increase their chances of survival. Some weapons can affect the fate of the characters and the game's bearings.
Weapons[]
M4A1 Carbine[]
5.56 NATO assault carbines used by the US military (especially US Special Forces/Special Operations Forces units like the USMC's Force Reconnaissance (FORECON)) and are the most common weapons in the game. Jason and Nick mainly uses this weapon with SOPMOD accessories that are also equipped with a 40mm M203 grenade launcher to fend off threats like Dar and the vampires. The former also uses the assault rifle to kill Clarice and Rachel when they are infected. The former's rifle can be stolen by Salim for a brief time in Enemy of My Enemy.
Nornico Type 56[]
7.62x39mm assault rifles used by the Iraqi soldiers and one of the shepherds. Salim mainly uses this weapon until when he loses it in Pazuzu and The Horror.
In The Raid, Salim will use the AK-47 rifle to take down the American marines and injure Jason. He later loses it while descending down the stairs in Pazuzu. When the vampires assault the group in The Horror, Dar will drop his rifle and Salim will take it instead to fight the vampires and even save Rachel. He loses it when he tries to escape from the vampires in the sacrificial chamber.
Handguns[]
2 variations of handgun including the Glock pistol (mainly used by Eric and Rachel) and Tariq (a copy of the Beretta 92 used by Salim). Salim loses his sidearm after landing in the caverns and finds it again when encountering the vampire. He later loses it in Slayer after the pistol runs out of ammo, only to find another one beside a dead Iraqi soldier later in The Truce. Salim can use the pistol to kill Eric.
Although Rachel and Eric don't play a big role with the Glock pistols, the former can use it to kill Salim if he kills Eric, Nick retreats and survives, Jason is impaled by The Ancient One, and he acts defensive when confronted.
Stake (Slayer)[]
A long metal stake found by Salim while being attacked by a vampire. He can use the stake to impale in a total of five vampires to unlock the "Slayer" achievement. He also uses this stake to end Balathu's/Kurum's misery and kill the parasite within Rachel if she is shot by Jason.
Stake (Bloodbath)[]
A stake found impaled onto Bradshaw's corpse. If Jason finds it, he can either keep it for himself or give it to Nick.
In the same chapter where the stake is found, Jason is attacked by a vampiric Joey. If Jason keeps the stake, he will use the stake to attack Joey in order to escape. In Enemy of My Enemy, Jason can use the stake to threaten Salim if he is ambushed in the Curator's Cut.
Giving the stake to Nick can save him from being choked by the Ancient One in The Vault. If Eric acknowledges Nick's radio signal and anyone in the group is injured, Nick can use the stake to kill the Ancient One.
UV Wand[]
An ultraviolet wand used to sweep explosives. The group will use the UV wand if Eric knows about the vampires' weakness to sunlight, which can be done if the vampire was killed in The Truce or Salim surrendered. Eric will use the UV wand on vampire Joey.
If Salim saves Rachel and Rachel decides to save Eric, she can take the UV wand on the ground and use it to burn the vampire about to attack her and save Eric from The Ancient One's grasp. Eric will again use the UV wand against The Ancient One in the latter's eponymous chapter, but will malfunction. Eric will then fix it in the Star Chamber in Strange Aeons and can use it to purge Rachel's infection.
If Eric has a high relationship with Nick, he will lend the UV wand to the latter when he volunteers to blow up to cocoon mounds. The UV wand will save Nick if he fails the initial Keep Calm segment, retreats, and fails QTEs while fending off against the vampire. On their way of escaping the structure, Eric will ignite one of the vampires on the way if he didn't lend the UV wand to Nick.
Vickers Machine Gun[]
A British origin machine gun possibly in .303 British caliber found in the temple which the archaeologists brought. Rachel can use this machine gun to shoot the vampires about to pounce on her in The Assault.
Flares[]
In Daylight, when the protagonists appear to run out of ammo, they will find a box of flares, to which they will use them to fight the vampires and The Ancient One if the latter is still alive in the target LZ.
