The Upper Deck is a location in The Dark Pictures Anthology's first installment, Man of Medan.

Description[]

Washrooms[]

Washrooms consists of a bathroom and a laundry room, divided into two rooms:

The first room has several large, empty carts and one small metal cart with Guard Duty Roster. Three thin pipes are installed above it, on which there are hangers.
The second room contains several sinks and two carts, one of which is stuffed with clothes. On the other side of the room are several huge washing machines. The player can look into an open washing machine and will be frightened by a rat that has jumped out of there.
The bathroom is no different from the rest. There are sinks on one side of the wall and a row of closed toilets on the other. The only open toilet is in the farthest stall where the player can find Private Reed's Letter.

Engine room[]

The engine room has two floors. Several engines are located on the lower floor and a balcony on the main floor. There is a table at the end of the room with Engineer's Logbook.

Bunk room[]

This room has a huge number of three-tiered beds. There are several cupboards in the corner, as well as two tables: a gambling table and a work table with Journal. On the other side of the room is a shelf with the picture.

Unknown cargo hold[]

Compared to other cargo holds, this one is much smaller. There are a huge number of boxes, bags, tires and a few trucks.

Man of Medan[]

2019[]

After the protagonists manage to escape from the dark room, they go to the upper deck. Trying to get away from the pirates, they pass through several rooms, simultaneously beginning to inhale the fog and experience minor hallucinations:

Conrad will see the Sailor Girl briefly appear to his right after moving through the first hallway, and again behind a bed.
Alex will see Kowalski's body on the toilet slowly turn to stare at him, and an undead arm will reach out when he picks up a rat skull.
Julia will see the dark form of a soldier running from a bathroom stall, and another soldier staring at her from the lower area of the engine room before running away.

Upon reaching the cargo hold, the group sees pirates looking for them. Olson leaves the distributor cap on the box and the protagonists can try to get it back. The attempt ends with Danny catching Fliss and Brad (if he was found). He takes away the protagonist (s) while Alex, Julia and Conrad escape.
