The Crossing is the ninth and final chapter of Act 1 in Little Hope and the eleventh overall.
The player controls Andrew and John (Theatrical Cut), Daniel and Andrew (Curator's Cut), and Angela later on as the group stumbles upon a collapsed bridge while they are attacked by a monstrous threat.
Little Hope Police Department[]
Neither group can open the door, so they force it open together by completing two possible QTEs. Reunited, Andrew asks if they found anything.
- If Daniel found the keychain, he will show it. Andrew will say that he saw the same keychain in his dream and that it is significant, but does not know how.
- If Daniel didn't find the keychain, he and Taylor will say they found nothing but junk.
- If Angela went with John, he will chide Taylor for suggesting that they split up, and she agrees to regroup with them, while Angela will say that they are in trouble. Daniel will ask if she knows that her double has been accused of witchcraft and John will add that "she was tried, found guilty and condemned".
- If Angela went with Taylor and Daniel told about Amy, John will ask Angela if she is okay and she will answer that she knows what happened to her double.
- If Angela didn't meet Amy on the bridge, went with Taylor and Daniel didn't tell about Amy, when John asks Angela about the trial, she will answer that she doesn't know. Andrew can tell about the trial, after which Angela will be angry at Daniel for not saying anything about her double.
Angela will offer to find out what will happen to Amy next and what she will face. John agrees with the idea, but says they don't know how to start figuring it out. Angela will point to the map and assume the answer lies down the one path they haven't taken yet.
- If Angela doesn't know about her double because she didn't go with John to the bridge in Confrontation and she went with Taylor and Daniel, John will tell Andrew to tell Angela about it, and Andrew can do so or remain silent.
There are two separate conversations as the group exits the police station:
- If Angela has seen and heard about her double:
- In Theatrical Cut, Taylor complains to Andrew that they have no clue what they are getting themselves into. Andrew can cheer Angela up or tell her that the trials, the girl and her double are leading them to something.
- In Curator's Cut, Angela stops Daniel and asks how she is connected to Amy and what will happen to her if she dies. Daniel can reassure her that the woman is not her or say that he doesn't know.
- If Angela has seen or heard about her double:
- In Theatrical Cut, Andrew sees a brooding Angela and asks if everything is ok and she says that she is fine.
- In Curator's Cut, Daniel and Taylor have a brief conversation.
- If Angela hasn't seen and heard about her double:
- In Theatrical Cut, Angela asks Andrew if he thinks she is crazy. Andrew may respond that she is doing what she believes is right, or assume that this is all part of the someone's plan.
- In Curator's Cut, Taylor stops Daniel and asks why he didn't tell her about Angela's double. Daniel can apologize or tell her not to be a hypocrite.
Seeing no other choice, John directs the group towards the path.
Main Road, 12:26 A.M.[]
Along the way, Andrew and John can find:
- A picture next to the left house.
- Tilly's memorial next to the right house. When Andrew/John sees the face of the statue, he will call Taylor, who will also be surprised as Tilly looks just like her. Andrew/John will ask her if her relatives lived in the town, but Taylor will immediately refute this.
- A band poster, sealed with paper, on an electric pole. Andrew/John will call Daniel and say that he found another coincidence as the poster shows Dennis with Daniel's face. He will say that he doesn't recognize this guy and that he has never been in a band.
The group approaches the bridge and examines it. Angela nearly falls, but John catches her, revealing that the bridge has been collapsed. Daniel asks who will go first and Taylor says it should be John since he is in charge.
- If John agrees, he will go first, followed by Andrew and Angela.
- If John is offered to look at other options, the group will be disappointed in him and Andrew will go first. John will receive a locked trait Uncertain.
- If John doesn't say anything, he will receive a locked trait Panicked.
Once Angela jumps onto the bridge, part of the structure behind them collapses, separating them from Daniel and Taylor, who disappear into a sudden fog. John/ Andrew continues walking, but is suddenly grabbed by Amy. Andrew/John manages to jump and grab John/Andrew, leaving Angela behind.
They see Amy bound in chains. Joseph tries to interrupt the execution, but is stopped by Isaac. Carver sentences Amy to death by drowning while she begs for help. Whoever crossed the bridge first then has a dialogue where they can ask how to help or why Amy looks like Angela. Carver, not seeing John and Andrew, believes that Amy turns to the devil for help and orders Isaac to bind Amy tighter. Amy says that "Little Hope is already lost, but not from witchcraft or outside demons, but poisoned from within". Carver says that Amy will not deceive them with riddles, but she continues to say that the devil is hiding under the shroud of innocence and as long as Mary is alive, Little Hope will remain beyond salvation. Isaac pushes Amy into the lake where she drowns.
Angela jumps to the other side and reunites with the group. She asks what happened, what the guys can tell about Amy's death or that they need a moment. At this moment, it is shown that something is swimming towards them in the water.
Collapsed Bridge, 12:51 A.M.[]
The group jumps to the ground under the bridge and, noticing a whirlpool, begin to run away. A creature emerges from the water and, vomitting with black ooze, begins to crawl towards them. Daniel and Taylor scream for them to get out of there while Andrew climbs the rubble onto the bridge. Angela and John start calling for help and Andrew must decide who to save:
- If Andrew does nothing twice, Angela will be killed immediately.
- If Andrew decides to save John, he must complete QTEs to help John climb. Angela will have to climb the slope on her own and requires more QTEs to do it.
- In Shared Story, Angela can ask him to hurry or say she can handle it on her own. On the latter choice, Angela will receive a locked trait Dismissive.
- If Andrew decides to save Angela, she can accept help or refuse:
- If Angela accepts, she will need to complete fewer QTEs.
- If Angela refuses, she will start coughing and outcomes will be the same as if Andrew decided to save John. Angela will receive a locked trait Dismissive.
- If Angela says nothing, she will be killed immediately.
- If Angela fails QTEs, as she desperately tries to climb the slope, the chains will bind her legs and drag her towards the demon, causing Angela to hit her head on the ground and lose her glasses. She will hopelessly call Andrew for help as the chains gradually bind her. In the end, the demon will open Angela's mouth with chains and vomit black ooze, drowning her. Andrew will stand and scream for Angela as the demon drags her body into the river. John reminds him that they have to leave, and the scene ends with a shot of Angela's broken glasses.
- If Angela completes QTEs, Andrew will pull her out and they with John will run away while the demon stares after them.
- If Angela got out on her own, an extra scene will be shown where she rises at the last moment before the chain grabs her leg.
Meeting The Curator[]
The player encounters with The Curator again, who explains the situation with Angela:
- If she survived, the Curator will say that she almost met a fate worse than death and with a smile states that there is nothing wrong with death.
- If she died, the Curator will say that the group suffered a loss and that the player could have avoided it, after which he will focus on those who remain.
The Curator then speaks about the revolver Andrew can find.
- If Andrew takes it, the Curator will suggest that it could be a lifesaver or vice-versa.
- If Andrew doesn't tell Angela about it, he will say that it's a good move.
- If Angela goes with Andrew and threw away the gun, the Curator will baffingly question the player, why they allow to throw away such precious things.
- If the gun wasn't found or Andrew doesn't take it, he will say that protagonists need some kind of weapon and the player should explore more thoroughly.
Then the Curator will mention the boys' theories; Daniel's that they are all dead and perhaps Andrew's that they are the reincarnated souls of their historical counterparts. He says that maybe the bus driver will be able to shed some light on what's going on and asks how the characters relate to doppelgangers, witches, ghosts, death, and demons. The Curator says that he has been granted permission to give the player a hint:
- If the player accepts, the Curator will quote "do as the heavens have done, forget your evil. With them, forgive themselves".
- If the player rejects it or stays silent, he will say, that this move can be brave and independent, but also foolish.
The Curator will send the player back to the game, before saying that they should return, no matter how terrifying it may be.

Deaths[]
Inevitable[]
- Amy always dies by drowning in the river.
Determinant[]
- If Andrew does nothing twice, Angela will be drowned in black ooze.
- If Angela says nothing when Andrew offers her help, she will be drowned in black ooze.
- If Angela fails QTEs to climb up the slope, she will be drowned in black ooze.
Trivia[]
- Taylor is the only protagonist that cannot be controlled at any point during this chapter.
- This is the first chapter in which a protagonist can die, said protagonist being Angela.
- Angela's death scene was also featured in the teaser trailer at the end of Man of Medan, with the difference of the scene is that Angela apparently dies when she slammed her head against the ground, while in the game, she survived the slamming, but is subsequently killed moments later.
- The Curator's hint is that Anthony needs to forgive himself for the fire in order to get rid of the demons, which must be confronted alone by their respective protagonist later.
- This chapter (plus the second half of Off Track) made up the teaser demo of the game.
- The chase segment on the bridge was also featured in an interactive YouTube trailer for the game. In it, the viewer can choose to play as either Andrew or Angela. From there, Andrew could choose to either save John or Angela, or Angela could choose to call for help or climb to safety, similar to the game's version. Saving Angela/calling for help would result in Angela surviving, while saving John/climbing to safety results in her death.
