The Target LZ is a location in The Dark Pictures Anthology's third installment, House of Ashes.

Description

The name of this place - Target LZ - was given by the Americans as they planned to raid the area to find an underground weapons depot.

In fact, this is just a farm surrounded by many bushes. It contains several small thatched huts, as well as trucks and tractors. Inside, all the huts look the same: ragged walls, bunks, lots of carpets, and a few pagan effigies hanging on the ropes. However, some huts have different contents, as in one of the huts visited during The Raid had a basket of gas masks and drugs hidden under the carpet, while the hut where the protagonists flee during Daylight has trash bags and boxes of flares in the corner.

The farm is nestled within the Zagros Mountains and sits directly on top of the hidden temple.

Main Story

Act 1

The American Unit arrives at the farm and takes over the huts. As Rachel interrogates the shepherds about the entrance to the silo, the squad learns that they are just common crooks as they find drugs. At the same time, the Iraqi patrol comes to the farm and watches the Americans for a while, after which they shoot at a helicopter with a rocket launcher. In the course of the firefight, earthquakes begin and all participants in the battle are plunged into the caverns below.

Act 3

By the end of the game, only the protagonists manage to return to the surface, as the rest have been killed. Initially, they rejoice that they are safe, but an eclipse ensues, causing many vampires to surface and attack the protagonists one last time. The group runs to one of the huts, where they fight off the vampires and possibly the The Ancient One for 6 minutes. During this time, each protagonist can die, being overwhelmed by the monsters, or hold out long enough before the eclipse ends and air support arrives. Either way, rescue arrives and whether or not anyone survived, the helicopter will leave the area, either with any survivors or no one.
