Spa is the tenth chapter of Act 2 in The Devil in Me and the twenty-third overall.
The player controls Jamie (Theatrical Cut) and Mark (Curator's Cut) as they along with Kate stumble upon a dilapidated spa.
Cellar, 12:42 A.M.[]
- In Theatrical Cut, clips of the Curator's Cut of Ignition are displayed to show Kate, Mark, and Jamie reacting to what they saw, with Kate and Mark embracing.
Du'Met is shown watching them on a screen, and he presses some buttons to make a wall near the group open. They hear screaming from within, and Kate wonders if it might be Erin. Jamie says it might be another trap, but Mark finds the door that they came through locked and says that it's the only way out of there so they are going to find out. The group then begins exploring.
They walk down a long hallway, with Kate questioning if it's a good idea as Mark insists they have no other options. After going through a gap, they find themselves in a bathroom, and Mark questions where they are. As they keep going, they find themselves in Columbus Spa, and an announcement from someone named Laura plays over the loudspeaker, saying that the spa is now open to guests. Kate says Du'Met is watching them. The group can explore the empty pool and reception area to find:
- Jesse's ID card and mannequin, playing the sound of someone's muffled yelling.
- The doors to the first floor of the spa. They can be looked through.
- Closure Memo. After putting it down, someone is shown to be watching the protagonists through the doors.
- The lobby doors leading out of the reception area. They are locked, and Kate says she will try to get it open while the others look for a way out. As the protagonists enter the reception area, Laura's voice asks for all visitors for couples' treatments to gather by the lobby doors.
- A side door in the reception area. Mark and Jamie must complete a QTE to open it, and when they succeed, they push open the door and stumble into the next room.
A metal gate closes over the door as the floor beneath them angles downward, dropping them to the first floor as Kate asks what happened. The floor then closes again, and Mark tells Kate they will get back to her. Laura's voice comes over the loudspeaker again, telling someone that what they want her to say wasn't in the script. Mark and Jamie can now explore the first floor of the spa and find:
- A business card.
- Laura's ID card and mannequin, playing the sound of her crying. Upon inspection, Laura can be heard shouting at someone to let her go as classical music plays. She is then heard dying.
- Resignation Letter. It is in the room with Laura's mannequin.
- The doors to where the group was earlier. After looking through them, Du'Met is shown walking by on the other side.
- Frank's ID card and hanged mannequin, playing the sound of him grunting with classical music in the background.
- A 10 obol coin. It is in the room with Frank's mannequin.
Mark and Jamie must climb up a tarp to the floor above them to continue exploring. As they walk through a dark hallway, they hear muffled crying, and are surprised as a mannequin on the floor in front of them is suddenly pulled into a vent. Monica's ID card can be found before the two of them enter an area of the spa that is still under construction, and must navigate through it in the dark. They can find a 1 obol coin within before reaching the end, where the two find a roll up door. They must complete a QTE to open it, and when they succeed, they crawl through for it to slam shut behind them.
Eventually, the pair enters a display room with a locked door. Behind a fenced area in the room are Monica and Ryan's mannequins, and Ryan's voice can be heard yelling at Monica to shut up as Monica asks him to stop and classical music plays in the background. The two mannequins are chained to a pole with a rotating sawblade in the middle and a timer above it. Mark asks if it's some sort of message, and then suggests Du'Met is trying to tell them something.
When one of them presses a button on the fence, the sawblade begins to spin and the timer above it counts down from nine seconds. Monica is heard gasping as her mannequin is slowly pulled into the sawblade by Ryan's mannequin, before suddenly hitting it and exploding as the mannequin's lower half falls over. The fence opens up, allowing Jamie and Mark to view Ryan's ID card before picking up the spa master key. It can be used to unlock the door to the room, giving them access to the balcony above where the group first entered the spa.
Mark and Jamie can find a 5 obol coin on the balcony before reaching a desk, which they move aside to reach Kate. Kate is thankful to see them, and Jamie uses the key to open the reception doors. As the three of them leave the spa, Du'Met is shown lurking behind them. They enter the lobby and hear classical music on one of the upper floors. The group runs toward the stairs, and Mark notices that the counter above it now reads 0181 (if Erin is alive) or 0182 (if Erin is dead).
