Secrets are one of the main collectibles in The Dark Pictures Anthology. These are all sorts of items whose finding affects the game, whether it's extra dialogue or a significant change in the course of the story, such as the fate of the character. The following is a list of the secrets, listed in order of appearance in every installment.

Each installment has 50 secrets in total. They all reveal the whole picture of events, with some secrets grouped together and explaining a specific part. Each secret have a description explaining the contents, which can update with new information gained by finding other secrets.

All secrets can be obtained individually in both Theatrical Cut and Curator's Cut, as well as directly in Shared Story, where the secret counts for both players even if only one of them found it. The game keeps a record of all discovered secrets in the player's collections, giving them access to secrets regardless of the playthrough.

Obtaining 25 and all 50 secrets will unlock the "For a dollar he told me his secrets" and "Secrets! Lies! Conspiracies, man!" trophies, respectively. The secrets Water Purification Plant Map, Man Overboard Search Orders, Casket Shortage Memo, and Top Secret Intelligence Note cannot be found in Curator's Cut, and are only available in Theatrical Cut. The secrets Co-Pilot Badge, Cargo Bill of Landing, Violent Incident Report Sheet, Manchurian Gold Test Results, Diplomatic Immunity Contract, ID Badges and Documentation and Toxins Research cannot be found in Theatrical Cut, and are only available in Curator's Cut.

So far, Little Hope is the only installment in the anthology where secrets are divided into categories. In this case, the secrets are divided equally into "Witchcraft" and "Family". Obtaining all 25 secrets in each category will unlock the "Dirty Little Secrets" (for Witchcraft) and "Secrets Too Dark" (for Family) trophies, respectively. The secret History of Paganism Book cannot be found in Curator's Cut, and is only available in Theatrical Cut.

Obtaining all 10 Randolph's Journal pages and all 50 secrets unlocks the The Statement of Randolph Hodgson and Scratching at the Past trophies, respectively. House of Ashes is the first installment where there is a trophy for collecting specific secrets, as well as no trophy for collecting 25 secrets. The secrets Pagan Effigy and Gas Mask cannot be found in Curator's Cut, and are only available in Theatrical Cut.

Instead of the actual secrets being displayed while viewing the secrets list, criminal-themed symbols are displayed such as chalk body outline, fingerprints, and chalk head outline with brain. Obtaining all 12 silver-framed secrets and all 50 secrets unlocks the "Investigator" and "Collector" trophies, respectively. The secrets School Letter, Sherman Tape 3, Photos of Victims, Foreman's Log, Disturbed Grave Letter and Children's Book cannot be found in Curator's Cut, and are only available in Theatrical Cut. The secrets Lucinda Munday Medical Report and Funeral Invitation cannot be found in Theatrical Cut, and are only available in Curator's Cut.
