This article is about The Dark Pictures Anthology's fourth installment, The Devil in Me .

Reunion is the eighth chapter of Act 3 in The Devil in Me and the thirty-eighth overall.

The player controls Kate/Jamie (Theatrical Cut) and Mark (Curator's Cut) as the remaining survivors regroup at the lighthouse.

Lighthouse, 4:30 A.M.[]

Kate (if alive) and Jamie (if alive) enter the lighthouse and note a terrible smell. The controlled character can find the Disturbed Grave Letter in the kitchen before entering the living room and being greeted by an animatronic of Lucinda Munday. Examining her allows them to find the Children's Book. Eventually they go upstairs and find a door.

  • If Charlie and/or Erin are alive, before turning the knob, the controlled character is surprised by them appearing at the bottom of the stairs. Charlie/Erin says Mark is turning the lighthouse on as they come upstairs.

The controlled character calls for Mark as they hear him struggling on the other side of the door. They enter.

  • If Jamie, Erin, and Charlie are dead and Mark lost his fight against Du'Met (which he always does in Theatrical Cut), Kate finds a figure that appears to be Mark on the floor. If Mark kicks the door (which he always does in Theatrical Cut), she hears a bump from behind it. She can either investigate the door to find an incapacitated Mark or help the figure.
    • If Kate investigates the door and equips her crystal (if she has it) or does a QTE, she frees Mark.
    • If Kate does not investigate the door, or investigates it but fails to free Mark, the figure is revealed to be Du'Met, who incapacitates Kate.

Note: The scene where Mark calls out to Kate/Jamie as Du'Met appears behind him also plays in Theatrical Cut before the Theatrical Cut segment begins.

Mark climbs down from the lantern room and hears beeping from a machine, picking up the boat key if he did not grab it already. He then approaches the window and sees Kate (if alive) and Jamie (if alive) running toward the lighthouse. He calls out to them and as Du'Met is shown standing behind him.

Mark turns around and notices Du'Met with an axe. The two begin to fight, and Mark must complete several QTEs and make a choice as they do so. If Mark completes enough QTEs, he wins the fight and wrenches the axe away from Du'Met, preparing to strike him with it just as Kate/Jamie opens the door. If Mark fails too many QTEs, he loses the fight and is knocked to the floor.

  • If Jamie, Erin, and Charlie are dead and Mark lost his fight against Du'Met, Du'Met incapacitates him and drags him away. He regains consciousness on the floor in another room with his hands tied, and can either kick the door or try to break the ties.
    • In Curator's Cut, if he kicks the door then Kate investigates it, and if he does not then Kate does not investigate it.
    • If Kate investigates the door, she opens it and can either free Mark (which she always does in Curator's Cut) or fail to free him and be incapacitated by Du'Met.
    • If Kate does not investigate the door, Mark groans in pain as he hears Kate outside the room. He yells at Du'Met to not touch Kate and gets no response as she is incapacitated off-screen.

  • If Jamie, Erin, and/or Charlie is alive and Mark lost his fight against Du'Met (which he always does in Theatrical Cut), Kate/Jamie opens the door and they find him on the floor. Kate/Jamie helps him up as Du'Met reveals himself behind the door.
    • If Charlie is alive, he pushes Du'Met away.
    • If Charlie is dead but Erin is alive, she throws a vase at Du'Met.
  • If Mark won his fight against Du'Met, Kate/Jamie find him mid-combat, and Du'Met takes the opportunity to grab his axe back from Mark as Kate/Jamie pull Mark away.

If Kate and Mark are the only survivors and Du'Met has incapacitated them, Ultimatum follows. Otherwise, the survivors flee Du'Met and run down the stairs.

  • If all protagonists are alive and the secrets Sherman Tape 1, Sherman Tape 2, School Letter, Sherman Tape 4, FBI Badge, Clipboard, and List of Aliases were found, Kate stops at the bottom of the stairs to confront Du'Met, with the rest of the crew gathering around her after Mark briefly tries to stop her. Kate says that she knows Du'Met is not his real name, and Mark says he is Special Agent Hector Munday. Jamie says Sherman was lying to him because he wanted to make a legacy, and Erin says they know how Hector was mistreated as a child with the authorities turning a blind eye. Kate says they met Hector's mother, and Charlie adds that they have seen the bodies and know he's trying to preserve and fix them, but it doesn't work like that. Kate concludes that it is a cycle of violence Du'Met can break. After a moment of silence, Du'Met continues chasing them.

The survivors continue running through the lighthouse, with Mark briefly glancing at the Lucinda animatronic.

  • If Kate or Jamie is dead, or Erin died in Maze, Mark asks Kate/Jamie about them and is distressed when he learns they are dead.

Lake then follows.

Trivia[]

  • This chapter shares its name with a chapter from Little Hope.
  • If Mark and Kate are captured here, their deaths are guaranteed, either in the next chapter or the epilogue.
  • It is impossible to get the scene where the crew confronts Du'Met in Curator's Cut, since the School Letter secret cannot be found in that mode.
