FISH FACTORY TO CLOSE!
...is closing down it was announced yesterday. The closure is set to cost around 100 people their jobs when the island-based factory closes its doors. Many people are speculating the company is moving its operation further afield, whilst a number of people have suggested its more to do with unionization. The company recently faced a wave of criticism for suggesting it would lobby against unions in the fishing trade. In its announcement the company said: "Significant progress has been made in increasing our margins in other sites around North America, whilst our ... site has failed to meet expectations."
In light of the above, the board has concluded that shareholder value will be maximised by either utilising ... or through seeking a disposal which has the potential to generate significant value.
