We each have our own demons. They are ours and ours alone...
This article is about The Dark Pictures Anthology's second installment, Little Hope .

Low Point is the first chapter of Act 3 in Little Hope and the sixteenth overall.

The player controls John and Andrew (Theatrical Cut) and Andrew and Daniel (Curator's Cut) as the group decides to rest in the woods.

Woods, 2:17 A.M.[]

The group runs through the woods, but is forced to stop because John needs a break.

  • If Daniel and Taylor survived, Daniel says that they must move on despite John's fatigue.
    • If John insists that they stick together, he will receive the locked trait Indignant.
  • If Daniel is dead, Taylor asks John what happened to him. Upon learning that he is dead, she and Andrew ask if Daniel died quickly. Either way, Taylor sits on a rock and cries while Andrew consoles her.
    • If John says that there was nothing he could do, he will receive the locked trait Dismissive.
  • If Taylor is dead, Daniel asks Andrew where she is and what happened to her. John says to be quiet as the demons can hear them, but Daniel insists on going back and helping Taylor. Andrew confirms that she is dead.
    • If John said that Taylor is dead or tells him to let go Andrew, he will receive the locked trait Angry or Aggressive, respectively. Only saying nothing will not result in a locked trait.

The group decides to rest and Andrew falls asleep for a while. Upon waking up, John tells him that it is impressive to fall asleep under these circumstances. Andrew asks what their plan is and John replies that they must deal with Mary. Andrew then asks what to do with the girl who continues to run away from them, to which John replies that she and Mary are somehow connected and that perhaps she is leading them to a place where they can stop it. Andrew doubts this idea as Mary isn't real and John replies that they should try.

  • If Andrew agrees to the plan, his eyes will hurt and he will receive the locked trait Resolute.

If Angela survives the encounter with her demon in Lost, the group hears the demons and sees a grotesque silhouette in the fog.

  • If Andrew has the gun, he will aim at the silhouette and John will instruct him.
    • If John encourages Andrew to shoot (Theatrical Cut only) or Andrew chooses to shoot, Andrew shoots at the silhouette, which turns out to be Angela. The bullet hits her throat and she will die while John desperately tries to stop the bleeding. John approaches Andrew but is stopped by Daniel and/or Taylor. He then takes the gun from Andrew and throw it into the bushes, saying that he should have taken it earlier. The Drowned Demon appears to take Angela's body away while the others flee in panic.
    • If John told Andrew to put away the gun (Theatrical Cut only) or Andrew chooses not to shoot, the group sees Angela and she tells Andrew to point the gun at someone else.
  • If Andrew doesn't have the gun, the group will hide behind a rock and see Angela.

If Angela was not shot, the group is happy that she managed to escape from the demon.

  • If everyone is alive, Angela praises John for keeping everyone together.
  • If Daniel or Taylor is dead, Angela asks about them and learns that they were killed.

The group begins to follow the path while John explains to Angela that more demons have started chasing after them.

  • If John didn't find Angela's glasses, he asks her if she’ll be okay without them, and Angela jokes that there are a lot of things she doesn’t want to see.
  • If John found Angela's glasses, he gives them to her and she thanks him before putting them on. Realizing one of the lens is broken, Angela takes them off.

Dirt Trail, 4:03 A.M.[]

Note: This segment is skipped if Daniel or Taylor died in Surrounded.

The group follows the trail and goes down a ledge, but when Daniel is about to go down, he falls due to the Impaled Demon appearing. The group starts to run and splits up with John and Angela running behind, Taylor and Daniel running ahead, and Andrew catching up with them.

Andrew runs after Daniel and Taylor, in which he needs to complete QTEs along the way to not trip on a root and go down a ledge. Going out into a clearing, he sees that they are attacked by their respective demons and must decide who to save.

  • If Andrew failed QTEs, he will have less time to choose.
  • If Andrew decides to save Daniel, he must complete QTEs to move the Impaled Demon's spear.
    • If Andrew fails QTEs and Daniel has the knife, he will tell Andrew to pick it up and stab the demon.
    • If Andrew has the gun, the demon will stab Daniel in the leg and Andrew must shoot him.
      • If all QTEs are completed, Daniel will crawl to the tree and Andrew will save him before the demon stabs him. The spear will get stuck in the tree and while the demon is trying to get it off, the guys will have time to escape.
      • If Andrew fails too many QTEs, the demon will kill Daniel.
        • Regardless of whether Daniel is alive or dead, Andrew will run to save Taylor.
          • If Andrew has the gun, he must shoot the demon.
          • If Andrew does not have the gun and Taylor has the knife, she will give it to Andrew, who will stab the demon.
          • If Andrew and Taylor aren't armed and Angela is alive, he will not have time to save Taylor and the demon will kill her.
          • If Andrew and Taylor aren't armed but Angela is dead, John will rescue Taylor by hitting the demon with a rock.
  • If Andrew decides to save Taylor, the scenario will be slightly different depending on which demon is attacking Taylor.
    • If Taylor is being attacked by the Hanged Demon, Andrew must complete a QTE to attempt to free her from the demon's tongue. Either way, he will fail to free Taylor.
      • If Taylor has the knife Taylor has the knife and has used it against the demon in Surrounded, Taylor will point to it and Andrew will pick it up from the ground and must complete a QTE to stab the demon's tongue.
      • If Taylor has the knife but hasn't used it yet, or if she does but Andrew fails the QTE, Andrew must complete another QTE to hold onto Taylor.
      • If Andrew has the gun, he must shoot the demon.
      • If Andrew does not have the gun, John will save Taylor by either stabbing the demon's tongue with the knife or hitting the demon with a rock.
    • If Taylor is being attacked by the Burned Demon, Andrew must complete QTEs to hold onto her.
      • If Andrew has the gun, he must shoot the demon.
      • If Andrew does not have the gun and Taylor has the knife and has used it against the demon in Surrounded, Taylor will point to the it and Andrew must complete a QTE to throw it at the demon.
      • If Andrew does not have the gun and Taylor has the knife but hasn't used it yet, John will arrive and stab the demon with the knife.
      • If Andrew does not have the gun and Taylor does not have the knife, John will arrive and hit the demon with a rock.
    • If Andrew fails too many QTEs and Angela is alive, Taylor will be killed.
    • If Andrew fails too many QTEs but Angela is dead, John will save Taylor.
    • Daniel will always survive regardless of what happens.

Daniel and Taylor run down the trail, performing QTEs along the way to not trip over a root and go down a ledge.

  • If Daniel fails the QTE while trying to jump over the root, he trips and Taylor helps him up. If he had taken the knife in Troubled History, it will be lost if he fails the QTE.
  • If Daniel completes the QTE, Taylor trips and Daniel can help her (increasing their relationship) or keep running (decreasing it).

Having gone down to the clearing, the couple begins to look for the others, but are attacked by their demons. Daniel must perform QTEs to dodge his demon's attacks.

  • In Shared Story, if Andrew decides to save Daniel, he will have to do fewer QTEs.
  • If Daniel fails an early QTE without Andrew's help and has the knife, he can use the knife against the demon. If Andrew is helping him, Andrew can use the knife instead.
    • If Daniel completes all QTEs, he will survive.
    • If Daniel fails certain QTEs, he will be killed.

After fleeing from the demons, the group reunites and escapes along the trail.

  • If Taylor died, Daniel mourns her while John consoles him.
  • If Daniel died, Taylor says that she laughed at his theory that they died in the crash and ended up in Hell, but now she thinks he was right.
  • If Daniel and Taylor died, John says that they did everything they could.

Meeting The Curator[]

The player again encounters The Curator, who quotes, "It is better to conquer yourself, than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell". Then he asks the player if they are starting to realize something and says that everything and everyone may not be quite what they appear to be. Simultaneously, he draws the cards, corresponding to the survivors, from the small poker chest and places them on the desk, after which he turns over the cards that turn out to be the same.

  • If all protagonists are alive, the Curator will congratulate the player, saying that they hadn't lost a single soul.
  • If one protagonist has died, the Curator will name them.
    • If Angela was shot by Andrew, the Curator will scold the player for being careless with the gun.
  • If two protagonists are dead, The Curator will say there have been two lost souls.

Before sending the player into the game, the Curator asks them if they have any thoughts on what might be happening next, informing them that something "wicked" is soon to come.

Deaths[]

Determinant[]

  • If Andrew has the gun and John encourages him to shoot, Angela will be shot in the throat. (Theatrical Cut)
  • If Andrew has the gun and decides to shoot, Angela will be shot in the throat. (Curator's Cut)

Daniel

  • If Andrew helps Daniel and fails QTEs, Daniel will be impaled. (Theatrical Cut)
  • If Daniel fails QTEs to escape the demon, he will be impaled. (Curator's Cut)

Taylor

  • If Andrew helps Taylor and fails QTEs and Angela is alive, Taylor's neck will be snapped/her spine will be punctured. (Theatrical Cut)
  • If Andrew and Taylor are unarmed and Andrew helps Daniel and Angela is alive, Taylor's neck will be snapped/her spine will be punctured. (Theatrical Cut)

Trivia[]

  • If Daniel has 3 or more locked traits, some scenes in his fight sequence will play out differently:
    • After being impaled by his demon with the fence spear and before the first QTE appears, Daniel will briefly lose his focus due to his tinnitus for a few seconds before snapping out of it (if there are 4).
    • After pushing back the spear from his shoulder, before the QTE to dodge it appears, he will briefly suffer from a piercing chest pain (if there are 5).
    • After dodging the spear for the first time and before another QTE to dodge appears, Daniel will pause to examine his bleeding nose (if there are 3).
      • This is the second of the three combat sequences where the player can witness the consequences of locked traits affecting Daniel either slightly or dangerously.
  • In Shared Story, an error can occur where regardless if the player controlling Daniel completes all QTEs, it will show Daniel failing to kick the demon and dying.
  • In Curator's Cut, Taylor cannot die in this chapter.
  • This is the third chapter for Angela and the second for Daniel and Taylor in which they can die.
  • This chapter and Surrounded are the only opportunities for Daniel and Taylor to use the knife.
  • The Curator's clues hint at the fact that all protagonists are a single person.
  • In the game files, there is an unused dialogue from The Curator that occurs if Angela, Daniel, and Taylor are all dead, though this is impossible to achieve in-game.
