Intrusion is the sixth chapter of Act 1 in Man of Medan and the seventh overall.

The player controls Conrad (Theatrical Cut) and Alex (Curator's Cut) as the group is ambushed by the fishermen the former met.

Duke of Milan, 11:22 P.M.

The Duke drifts in the ocean, which gradually begins to rage as the storm approaches. All the protagonists are sleeping peacefully when three men in raincoats show up on the deck of the Duke, who then sneak into the cabin. The first of them, Junior, goes to Conrad's and Brad's room and grabs the former. Conrad wakes up, but despite attempts to resist, Junior still takes him hostage. At the same time, Danny, the second pirate, enters Alex's and Julia's room and grabs the latter by the leg. Julia wakes up and screams, waking up Alex, who are also taken hostage despite their attempt to fight back. After Conrad is brought into the room with Alex and Julia, Olson, the last of the trio and also the leader of the group, brings the captured Fliss. The pirates leave the room, leaving the protagonists alone.

Both Conrad and Alex can perform two actions, which include ungagging a neighboring character (for Conrad - Fliss and Alex; for Alex - Conrad and Julia) and a short dialogue with them.

Conrad, Alex and Julia are tied up

• If Conrad ungags Fliss, she will get mad at him for pissing off the pirates earlier, to which Conrad may apologize or make excuses.
• If Alex and Conrad ungags each other, they will discuss the number of kidnappers.
• If Alex ungags Julia, he will ask if she is okay.

After the dialogue, Junior enters the room and takes Fliss with him. As he leaves, Julia manages to pulls her bound hands in front of her. Conrad confesses that he recognizes these fishermen, as they were the ones he pissed off earlier in the day, angering Alex and Julia. The guys may try to untie each other or look through the window in the door to survey the situation, but they go back to their positions as Junior goes to them. Once in the room, Junior tries to hit Conrad, but the latter can dodge and Alex can kick the former in the leg. Either way, Junior takes Conrad with him and leaves.

Fliss confronting with Olson

Olson taunts Fliss and forces her to cooperate, to which she responds negatively. Conrad makes a snide comment in support of Fliss, which angers Olson. He grabs Conrad and leads him to the edge of the deck, first beating him and then threatening him with a knife. Fliss and Danny ask Olson to stop, to which Conrad can agree or tell Olson to fuck off (the latter will get Olson cutting off a part of Conrad's ear). Either way, Olson orders Junior to take Conrad back to the others. Along the way, Conrad resists and Junior tells him to be obedient.

• If Conrad continues to resist, Junior will throw Conrad to the floor. Before going any further, Conrad notices Brad hiding under the bed.

After Junior has taken Conrad away, Alex looks out the window and sees the latter being beaten by Olson. When Julia asks what they are doing with Conrad, Alex can lie or tell the truth. Julia says that she wants to kill the pirates, to which Alex can answer that there is no need to blindly attack or ask why they need Fliss, to which Julia replies that she is the captain and the kidnappers want to make sure that no one knows about their whereabouts. Julia notices her cosmetic bag and shakes out her cuticle clipper she uses to cut Alex's ropes.

As Alex is about to cut Julia's ropes, they are forced to stop because of Junior's return. Junior puts Conrad back, but later takes Julia. Alex starts knocking on the door, but Junior tells him to shut up. Depending on his traits, Conrad either assures Alex that the pirates won't hurt Julia as they didn't hurt Fliss or sarcastically say that the girls will break first.

After calming down, Alex cuts Conrad's ropes and tells him not to show his hands to the pirates, which keeps the element of surprise. At this point, Junior walks into the room and brings Julia back. She answers on Alex's worries that she is fine and that the pirates have asked her how much money their parents have (If Julia accepted the proposal, she will also say that they took her ring). Having cut Julia's ropes, the trio is left with no choice but to wait.

Some time passes and Conrad begins counting the intervals between the thunderclaps. Conrad says he counts eight seconds, which means the storm is eight miles away, after which Julia mentions that the pirates have a boat and the group comes up with a plan where they either try to escape in the boat or attack the pirates. Conrad counts seven seconds and suggests getting out through the window. Julia says that the pirates will hear them, to which Conrad replies that they will break the window during the thunder. He says that the guys should distract the pirates while he executes the rest of the plan, whereupon the trio begins to act. Alex and Conrad approach the window and the latter starts counting.

• If the guys break the window by the sixth second, the pirates won't hear anything and Alex takes Danny hostage (Theatrical Cut).
• If the guys break the window earlier or later (in which case Julia will break the window), the pirates will hear them and Danny will take Alex hostage (Theatrical Cut).

Conrad makes a decision

Once out the window, Conrad begins crawling forward, hiding behind the side of the Duke. Danny hears a rumble in the cabin and goes down there. Once Danny leaves and only Junior is left on deck, the Keep Calm segment begins.

• In Shared Story, if Alex has taken Danny hostage, Conrad automatically passes the Keep Calm segment.
• If Conrad fails the Keep Calm segment, Junior notices him and knocks him to the ground.
• If Conrad passes the Keep Calm segment, he will be given the choice of either fleeing by boat or attacking Junior.

Conrad escapes on a speedboat

He runs past Junior and, after jumping on the boat, must perform three QTEs to jump to the motor and unhook the rope from a speedboat.

• If Conrad fails any of these QTEs, Junior will capture him.
• If Conrad completes all of the QTEs, he begins to swim away quickly. Olson points a gun at him and shoots him.
  • If Conrad successfully ducks, he will swim away with no harm.
  • If Conrad fails to duck, he will be shot in the chest and die, as a speedboat takes his body away.

Either way, Olson will tell them to leave Conrad behind, as they will not be able to catch up with him on the Duke.

Conrad takes Junior hostage

He will lash out at Junior.

• If Julia broke the knife in Dive, Conrad will be unarmed and Junior will knock him to the ground.
• If the knife is intact (either Alex took a bangstick or Julia didn't open the door with the knife), Conrad will have to perform a QTE to grab the knife and take Junior hostage.
  • If Conrad failed to take a knife both first and second time, Olson will shoot him in the leg.

If Conrad has successfully taken Junior hostage, he will demand Olson to drop the gun. At this point, Alex, Julia, and Danny come out on deck, where either the pair or the pirate is held hostage. Olson throws the gun to the floor and Alex tells Conrad to finish the job or run to the boat.

• If Conrad decides to escape, he pushes Junior to Olson and runs to the speedboat as if he chose to escape earlier.
  • In Curator's Cut, as Olson aims at the sailing Conrad, Alex can either attack him or protect Julia. In the first case, Conrad manages to dodge while in the second he will be killed.
• If Conrad decides to retrieve the gun, Junior will knock him down.
• If Conrad does not choose, Junior will knock him down and Olson will shoot him in the leg.

At the same time as Conrad, Alex hides behind the door as Danny approaches the room.

• If Conrad hasn't found Julia's perfume in Wreck, Alex will have to perform one QTE to stab Danny in the shoulder with the cuticle clipper.
• If Conrad found Julia's perfume, Alex will have to complete three QTEs: first hit Danny in the head with the perfume, then take Julia's cuticle clipper and then stab Danny in the shoulder with it.
  • If Alex completes all of the QTEs, he will take Danny hostage and lead him to the deck.
  • If Alex fails the QTEs and has a bad relationship with Brad, Danny will take Alex hostage.
    • If the brothers have a good relationship, Brad will get out from under the bed and pounce on Danny, who will however quickly stun the former, although this will give Alex another chance to take Danny hostage. Brad will subsequently be caught with the rest of the group.

Either way, if Alex took Danny, he will demand that the pirates leave the boat. Olson says he's the captain now, and demands that he let Danny go, pointing a gun at Julia.

• If Alex ultimately decides to stand his ground or Conrad convinces him to keep resisting, Fliss will charge Olson and he will accidentally shoot, causing a bullet to graze Julia's head as Danny knocks Alex down. Junior pulls Fliss off of Olson.
• If Alex gives up or Conrad says they lost, he will drop the weapon and let Danny go.

After the confrontation, Olson gives Junior a gun and orders him to keep an eye on the group downstairs. Alex and Fliss always go downstairs, accompanied by Julia if she wasn't shot and Conrad if he didn't escape. Brad will also join them if he previously attacked Danny. Danny begins to search the shelves, despite Fliss' protests, and finds a document about "Manchurian Gold". He shows it to Olson, who then asks the group to tell him more about it.

• This is the first chapter in which a protagonist can die, said protagonist being Conrad.
