Homestead is the sixth chapter of Act 3 in The Devil in Me and the thirty-sixth overall.

The player controls Jamie/Kate as they explore the island grounds and stumble upon a farmhouse.

Forest Path, 3:58 A.M.

Jamie (if alive) and Kate (if alive) tumble down the cliff. If Erin is alive, they question her whereabouts as they get up, while if Erin died in Maze, Kate tells Jamie that this is messed up but they need to keep moving. They find themselves in a forest, and can explore to find:

• Driver's License.
• Theme Park Photo.
• A 5 obol coin.
• A torn section of a jacket on the dock.

They hear strange noises as they walk, and can optionally cross a bridge to reach a small island with a shed. If Jamie crosses the bridge, a small section of it breaks, and she must do a QTE that, if failed, makes her lose her screwdriver if she still has it. On the island with the shed, they can explore to find another 5 obol coin and the shed key. Upon opening the shed, they discover a Man's Body and react in horror. If they move the camera around while inspecting it, they can pick up a utility flashlight to replace Jamie's flashlight or Kate's miniature makeup kit. Eventually, they find an old farmhouse, and must enter it to progress the story. They hear a dog's whimpering from inside, and find Connie with a piece of wood stuck in his neck just as Du'Met walks by outside.

If Jamie and Kate are alive, Jamie can tell Kate to help her or tell Kate to hide. The controlled character pulls Connie into another room, with Kate joining Jamie if Jamie didn't tell Kate to hide. Du'Met enters the farmhouse with an axe, and Connie prepares to bark. The controlled character picks up a shattered glass bottle and can complete a QTE to stab Connie.

• If the controlled character stabs Connie, he whimpers and dies. Du'Met leaves without finding the survivors, and they leave shortly after.
• If the controlled character doesn't stab Connie, he starts to bark, and Du'Met enters the room and raises his axe.
  • If Jamie and Kate are alive and Kate is not hiding, Du'Met swings the axe and there is a blood spatter on the wall. It is revealed that Jamie has been axed in the head, and Kate shouts in horror and runs as Connie bites Du'Met. Kate hides outside as Du'Met exits the farmhouse and walks away.
  • If Jamie and Kate are alive and Kate is hiding, Kate hits Du'Met from behind, distracting him. Connie bites Du'Met as the women run away and hide outside, watching as he exits the farmhouse and walks away.
  • If Jamie or Kate is dead, Du'Met swings the axe and there is a red spatter on the wall. It is revealed that he hit a can of tomato soup, and the controlled character runs as Connie bites Du'Met. The controlled character hides outside as Du'Met exits the farmhouse and walks away.

The survivors continue running through the forest, and do not notice when they activate a motion sensor on the ground. They see the lighthouse in the distance.

Secrets

• Driver's License - On the ground to the right after crossing over a log.
• Theme Park Photo - To the north on the ground after crossing over a log.
• Man's Body - Inside the shed. A key to access the shed first is required, which is located behind the shed.

Obols

• 5 Obols - On the ground next to the fallen tree near the place where the protagonists fell.
• 5 Obols - Near the rocks next to the shed.

Inventory Items

• Utility Flashlight - Beside the Man's Body secret. The camera must be moved around.

• This is the fourth chapter in which Jamie can die.
• In Shared Story, both this and Lighthouse are played at the same time.
