The Duke of Milan is a small boat owned by Fliss and rented by the other four protagonists. The boat serves as the main location where Act 1 of The Dark Pictures Anthology's first installment, Man of Medan, takes place.

Description[]

The Duke is a medium sized boat that can accommodate 5 passengers. The exterior and interior are made in the same way and are made in white (mostly outside) and brown (mostly inside) colors.

There are several seats on the deck and in the corner there are several yellow air tanks and a dive radio. The deckhouse is covered with a roof and has the necessary equipment: radio to call port authorities and a tablet for viewing the weather. There is also a hatch to the engine.

A boat equipped with amenities for multi-day long voyages. On the lower deck, right at the entrance, there is a small kitchen. The kitchen smoothly turns into a small hallway leading to three cabins and a bathroom:

The left one belongs to Fliss. It is quite small, but thanks to the game camera, part of the bed and the picture on the wall are visible.
The right one belongs to Brad and Conrad. It is also small and has only a bunk bed.
Central belongs to Alex and Julia. It is much larger than the rest of the cabins. In the middle is a sofa large enough for several people to sleep on. In the corners there are two cabinets, one of which the player can explore. There will be Julia's open suitcase, which contains her clothes, perfume and the book Shroud of Innocence.

Man of Medan[]

Pre-2019[]

The boat was bought by Fliss and used in her business. Shortly before the events of the game, the Duke is on the verge of being confiscated due to Fliss's unpaid debts.

2019[]

The Duke stands on the dock while Alex and Brad prepare their gear and wait for the others. After first Julia and Conrad arrive, and then Fliss, the group floats into the ocean. Throughout the day, the guys spend on the deck: in the evening Julia and Alex dive to the wreck and Fliss and Conrad confronts with a group of fishermen (Olson, Junior and Danny), and at night the group discusses the finds and tells horror stories.

By midnight, the pirates sneak in on The Duke and take the protagonists hostage. The boat gets caught in a violent storm and runs into the abandoned SS Ourang Medan. Several collisions with the ship cause the boat's antenna to break, cutting the characters off from using the radio. Believing that there are golds on the ship, the pirates take out the distributor cap and take hostages with them. If Brad managed to hide, he will get out of the hiding place a few hours later and follow the others to the ship.

After that, the rest of the game will be played on Ourang Medan. All the while, The Duke will be floating next to the ship.

In the end, the characters will sail away on the Duke or some characters will try to escape on the dead boat, only to die from sunstroke.

Trivia[]

Duke of Milan, along with Dockside Market, South Pacific Wreck Site, SS Ourang Medan, Temple, Caves, Alien Ship, and Cocoon Vault are the only locations that have chapters named after. (Respectively The Duke, Chinese Market, Wreck, Abandoned Ship, The Temple, The Well, The City, and The Vault)
The bathroom is the only room on the Duke that cannot be explored.
- It appears open during Wreck and closed during Ghost Story.
Right in front of the helm of the Duke of Milan are three types of meters: one for fuel, another for MPH (Miles per Hour) and another for volts. In the MPH there is a clear reference to the British company and developer of the anthology (Supermassive Games), which is Supermassive Dive.
If Fliss and Junior die and the other four survivors decide to stay on the Ourang Medan, the after-credits scene will show the Duke of Milan in the middle of the ocean with no crew.
Alex is the only protagonist who cannot die on The Duke, as he always stays on the Ourang Medan.
Fliss and Junior are the only characters who always try to escape on The Duke if the distributor cap is destroyed.
Julia is the only protagonist who can die other than from sunstroke on The Duke.
