Art can elicit all sorts of reactions. Delight, inspiration, desire... but also doubt, fear and dread...
This article is about The Dark Pictures Anthology's fourth installment, The Devil in Me .

Dinner is the ninth chapter of Act 1 in The Devil in Me and the tenth overall.

The player controls Charlie (Theatrical Cut) and Kate (Curator's Cut) as the Lonnit crew has gathered for the scheduled meeting during dinner, only to find out Du'Met is missing.

Restaurant, 7:58 P.M.[]

Mark and Kate enter the restaurant, where Charlie and Erin are already seated. The atmosphere is tense, and Kate asks Mark to pour some wine as Erin asks where Du'Met is. Charlie can tell everyone to relax or ask why he didn't show up to his own dinner party, and Kate can joke about him cooking dinner or say that Du'Met is as unreliable as Charlie's other inside sources. As Kate continues to joke about Du'Met, Jamie enters and says he isn't coming, having left on the ferry. Everyone is confused by him leaving, and Jamie reveals that he was with a girl. Erin says she saw them together while looking for her room, and Kate can be sarcastic about Charlie's plan or suggest the girl is his daughter. Erin asks why he would leave after inviting them to dinner, and Charlie can say he must have a good reason or tell them to stop questioning his judgment. He then insists the plan is still on track as they can shoot the footage without him. Mark says there must be a legit reason he left, and Kate can either say she is freaked out by him or suggest he is crazy. Jamie reluctantly agrees with Kate's hesitancy, and then jokes that he left to establish an alibi for when the crew is killed, annoying everyone else at the table.

Mark says Charlie must not have found his cigarettes, and Charlie can complain further or joke about having invisible cigarettes. Jamie then asks what Charlie's plan is, and Kate can either say she'll save the show again or be sarcastic and say they should wish really hard. Charlie stands up and can either toast the team or be hostile toward them.

  • If he toasts them, he compliments Mark, Kate, and Jamie, and can either compliment Erin as well or be petty about her losing his cigarettes.
  • If he is hostile toward them, he insults Kate and Jamie, and Mark tells him they won't rally behind him if he treats them like that. Charlie can apologize and back off or criticize Mark as well, which leads to him blaming his mood on Erin for losing his cigarettes.
  • If Charlie says nothing, Mark stands up and toasts the group. After complimenting Erin, Charlie can say he couldn't have said it better or say Erin lost his cigarettes.

If Charlie complains about Erin losing his cigarettes at the end of the speech and Jamie and Erin kissed earlier, Jamie defends her. Otherwise, Jamie tells everyone to drink. The group drinks, and as Charlie talks about how this will help the show, Mark tells Kate that Charlie definitely heard them earlier. She can either say it doesn't matter if he did or reassure Mark that he didn't. Charlie asks what they're talking about and Kate can be annoyed or say they are just spitballing ideas.

Erin questions why Du'Met hasn't showed up again, and Mark says he doesn't think Du'Met is coming. Kate can either be annoyed and say this is a waste of time, storming away from the table, or ask Charlie what to do first since he's the boss. Charlie says they can start setting up, and when Erin asks what would happen if Du'Met shows up, Charlie can be uncertain about angering him or say he'll have a strong word. Everyone leaves the restaurant except Charlie and Jamie.

  • If too many negative or uncertain options were chosen, Erin puts her headphones on and leaves prematurely, having an asthma attack in the next chapter. Jamie stays at the table to make fun of Charlie, and he either jokes with her about his sets being entertaining or tell her she always has something to say. As Jamie leaves, Charlie angrily throws his glass, breaking it.
    • Otherwise, Jamie stays at the doorway and says she'll set up some lights and they'll be good to go.
  • If a mix of negative and positive options were chosen, Charlie accidentally knocks over his glass, breaking it.
  • If enough positive options were chosen, the crew leave the room ready to get to work and Charlie doesn't break a glass.

Charlie's mannequin is shown in another room, with a man placing an empty wineglass in its hand, putting on its identical cap, and adjusting its glasses.
