JUNE 18 WEDNESDAY
We haven't been at sea long and I'm sick of the damn food already. That muck we ate tonight was a joke.
The cooks do their best with what we got I'm sure but man I'd kill for something fresh. First thing I'm doing when we get home is having me a tall glass of cold milk.
JUNE 19 THURSDAY
Every one of the US papers was talking about that massacre in Philly. It's crazy to think how we're out here traveling the world trying to keep our country safe and there's people killing each other in the streets back home. I sure could use a beer after reading about home but the captain has issued a ban on booze. Guess I'll be counting sheep tonight.

JUNE 20 FRIDAY
Some of the guys had a little wrestling competition in one of the cargo holds today. I did okay but Wagner eventually knocked me out of it. I joked he should be disqualified on account of his size but no dice. It'd take a whole crowd of people to pin him down. He certainly ain't eating the same as the rest of us that's for sure.
JUNE 21 SATURDAY
I'm sure the cargo we have in the hold has something to do with a squad that went missing. Their leader, Jones, heard a legend about a room full of ancient solid gold statues from a Manchurian child emperor. They were said to be cursed, but that sounds like a load of baloney.
I don't know if they found them, but they never did return from their mission. Maybe they're returning now.
Location[]
It can be found at the end of the mess hall, in the bottom corner.
Trivia[]
- Wagner was the same soldier who jumped overboard the ship and the reason for anchoring it. That feature appears in the navigator's notebook.
- This also has to do with the missing lifeboat that Julia can find in the South Pacific Wreck Site, which was released to save the endangered soldier.
- Allen was the soldier who revealed that the remains of Jones and his crew may be on board.
- According to the last two pages of this part of the diary, many of the passengers did not know about the Manchurian Gold until it began taking effect on them.
- The last quote from the last bookmarked page hints that none of the freighter's passengers knew that Sgt. Jones and his platoon were killed in an attack on the Water Purification Plant, on their mission.
