Dennis F. Clarke is a supporting character in The Dark Pictures Anthology's second installment, Little Hope. He was the adopted older son in the Clarke family and also one of those who died during the fire in their home in 1972. He was voiced and motion captured by Kyle Bailey and was modelled on Jonathan Burteaux. His motion capture performance was assisted by Michael Jinks.
Appearance[]
Dennis is a young man with a white complexion. He has brown eyes, a small faded mustache, and medium long thick dark brown hair like his father. Dennis has a hair style similar to Anthony's, in the popular 70's style and with a side swept fringe.
Dennis wears a dark red jacket with pink parts and a white T-shirt with black edges underneath. He also dons a pair of blue jeans and white and red sneakers.
Personality[]
Dennis is constantly grumpy, which is confirmed by Anthony's phrase that "Dennis being really Dennis". He is also very hot-tempered and quickly becomes irritated and angry if provoked.
Another noticeable trait of Dennis is his great love for music, which can be seen in the many band posters in his room, as well as his large collection of rare records. Dennis takes great pride in his collection and becomes very mad if someone breaks his vinyls or speaks ill of them.
Biography[]
Dennis was born on April 29, 1951 and was subsequently adopted by the spouses Anne and James Clarke, becoming the younger brother for Tanya and the older brother for Anthony and Megan. At some point, Dennis became interested in music and began collecting records as well as playing in the band as a guitarist.
January 17, 1972 was a usual day for Dennis to spend his time in the house, putting his record collection in the attic. However, while doing so, a fire started within the house. Dennis tried to escape from the house through the roof, but fell and got impaled on spear fences.

Prologue[]
Dennis is first seen in the living room looking at his vinyls with Anthony. Seeing the light outside the window, the brothers discuss Tanya's late comebacks and her boyfriend Vince. When Megan, leaving for her room after James switched the TV, steps on one of the records, Dennis scolds her, despite Anthony's attempts to justify Megan.
Not long after Tanya returns, Anne from the second floor shouts at Dennis to put his records in the attic. A disgruntled Dennis heads upstairs and tries to climb into the attic when Megan approaches him. She tries to talk to Dennis, but he ignores her, saying he's busy. As Megan leaves, the ladder on which Dennis is standing begins to shake, and he, thinking that it is Megan, yells at her.
During the fire, Dennis finds himself trapped in the attic because of a fallen ladder. Gasping for smoke, he escapes through a window to the roof. There, Dennis calls for Anthony, who tells him to get to the balcony. Dennis is carefully walking along the edge of the roof when he slips on the ice and falls down, finding himself impaled on spear fences. After a while, Dennis is buried in the cemetery with the rest of the deceased family members.
Main Story[]
As the protagonists make their way through Little Hope, they can find secrets related to Dennis and his family. At the end of the game, when it turns out that everything was Anthony's hallucination, Dennis is revealed to be the prototype of Daniel, David, and the Impaled Demon.
Relationships[]
James[]
James is Dennis' adoptive father. The two didn't interact in the prologue, but it can be assumed that they had a strained relationship due to James's alcoholism.
Anne[]
Anne is Dennis' adoptive mother. Their only interaction in the prologue showed that Anne didn't like when Dennis leaves records around the house and that Dennis didn't like when Anne shows no respect for his collection.
Tanya[]
Tanya is Dennis' adoptive older sister. The two interacted once in the prologue, but showed that they got along well and had a typical sibling relationship. It was also shown that Dennis cares about Tanya, saying that Vince has a bad influence on her.
Anthony[]
Anthony is Dennis' adoptive younger brother. The two got along well, although they could fight a little, such as over Megan. During the fire, Dennis asked Anthony for help and he tried to help his brother by telling him to get to the balcony.
Megan[]
Megan is Dennis' adoptive younger sister. He found his sister annoying and considered her a walking disaster. During the prologue, Dennis was angry with Megan twice, the first time when she stepped on his record and the second time when he thought Megan was swinging the ladder when Dennis went up to the attic.
Vince[]
Dennis didn't trust Vince, thinking he was part of some kind of "new age" and had a bad influence on Tanya.
