Danny is the tertiary antagonist in The Dark Pictures Anthology's first installment, Man of Medan. He, along with Junior and their leader Olson, is a pirate fisherman who kidnaps the protagonists in order to rob them. Danny was voiced and motion captured by Russell Yuen and was modelled on Jozef Aoki.
Appearance[]
Danny is a man with a tanned complexion and Asian features. He has dark brown eyes, shaved black hair covered with scars and slightly noticeable stubble. He also has a big freckle under his right eye and black piercing in his right ear.
Danny wears a dark blue denim hat with a catfish and a shabby green and dirty white t-shirt with buttons and a dark pocket. He also dons navy pants with pockets and walks around barefoot. Danny has a couple of tattoos on his body (on his neck, left forearm, right calf muscle and in his left ear).
During the storm and the attack on the protagonists, Danny, like the other pirates, wears a dark green raincoat. As the game progresses, Danny loses his cap and his clothes become slightly dirty and wet as he moves around the ship. He can also get a black eye under his left eye, a sustained injury in his head and a wound in his stomach, causing the underside of his T-shirt to soak up blood.
Personality[]
Of the trio of pirates, Danny can be considered the most peaceful. Although he is sometimes aggressive towards the group, this aggression is always passive as Danny never tries to harm the protagonists. Moreover, Danny, as Junior, is condescending to the group and even goes so far as to save Alex and Julia when the couple fell into the water and almost drowned.
On the SS Ourang Medan, Danny is shown to be fearful and rather superstitious. He truly believes that the ship is haunted by the ghosts of the dead and refuses to inspect it, even though there is gold on it.
Biography[]
Danny was one of the pirates to board the Duke of Milan in the stormy night of June 20, 2019. Having found the coordination of a gold, the pirates drove to the abandoned SS Ourang Medan, only to found out the threat lying within. Depending on the player's decisions, he might die like the former crew aboard the ship.

Main Story[]
Act 1[]
Danny is seen as one of the fishermen on a speedboat that collides with the buoy from the Duke of Milan. However, he remains silent. At night, Danny and the rest of the pirates sneak onto the Duke of Milan and take the protagonists hostage, particularly Danny ambushes Alex and Julia. After locking the group in the main bedroom, Danny goes out on deck. When Conrad is attempting to escape, Danny goes to check on the protagonists when he finds himself attacked by Alex. During a brief battle, one of the two is taken hostage by the other. Regardless, Danny finds a document about the Manchurian Gold and with the pirates, drive to the destination, revealed to be the abandoned SS Ourang Medan.
Act 2[]
Thinking that there is gold on the ship, the pirates climb aboard and take the protagonists with them. The trio locks the group in one of the rooms, after which Danny and Olson leave to inspect the cargo hold. When the protagonists manage to escape and Fliss and/or Brad try to retrieve the distributor cap, Danny catches them and takes them with him to find Olson. As they walk through the workshop, Danny becomes nervous about various sounds and discoveries, which culminates in Danny reaching to the end of the hallway, getting scared of something and running away in a panic, leaving the protagonists and losing his cap with flashlight along the way.
Brad later sees Danny holding him at gunpoint while forcing him to walk. Later, when a swarm of leeches attack both Brad and Danny, it will be revealed that the latter was actually not there.
The next time Danny appears is when Alex and Julia fall into the water in Cargo Hold 1 after meeting Olson. Danny first saves Alex and then Julia, but the former, because of hallucinations, sees Danny as a monster and thinking he is trying to hurt Julia, tries to drown him. Depending on Alex's decision, Danny can drown, but either way Olson pulls him out of the water.
Act 3[]
Danny will be seen yelled at by Olson while at the lower deck after the protagonists activate the generator. If Alex didn't drown him, Danny will plead as Olson yells at him. Afterwards, Olson unties Danny before stabbing him and placing his body on the table. Otherwise, Olson will simply untie Danny and put his body on the table.
The End[]
If the protagonists escaped from the ship, Danny is revealed to be alive and hallucinating, and can be seen again in a post-credits scene:
- If the military was called, Danny will attack and kill two soldiers with Olson's sledgehammer.
- If the military wasn't called, Danny will come across Olson's corpse. Olson corpse then comes alive and chokes him to death.
