Another Way is the eighth chapter of Act 1 in Little Hope and the tenth overall.
The player controls Daniel as the group splits up, in which he along with Taylor and possibly Angela took an alternative path.
Little Hope Middle School, 12:26 A.M[]
Daniel, Taylor, and possibly Angela walk down the trail to a middle school.
- If Angela stayed with Andrew and John, Daniel asks Taylor if she believes the woman looked like Angela, to which she replies that she has no intention of finding out.
- If Angela chose to go with them, Taylor asks her what she saw, to which Angela replies that she doesn't want to discuss it.
- If Angela left on her own, she says that she wants to go by herself, then asks if Daniel can believe that John accused her of overreacting.
- If Daniel says that John was out of line, Angela agrees with him.
- If Daniel told her not to get riled up, Angela says that unlike him, she takes life seriously.
- If Daniel asks what happened on the bridge, Angela says a woman that looked like her emerged from the fog, and Daniel can be skeptical or ask what that means.
The group gets to the school, but finds the gate closed. Daniel prepares to climb over them, but Taylor and Angela say they can't.
- If Angela left on her own, she says she might have gone overboard and that coming this way doesn't seem like such a great idea now. Daniel can tell her to show a little patience or reassure her that they'll find away out.
- If Angela is not with them or chose to go with them, Taylor says she might have made a bad call, and Daniel can agree that he shouldn't have listened or reassure her that it was their choice.
Daniel says they finds another way and head to the playground. Along the way, Daniel can find a map of the town in 1692 and a mark on a tree, after which it is shown that something is crawling out from the trees. following the group. On the playground, Daniel can find a dented drawing of a girl and a priest on a picnic table. As they leave the playground, the group notices a girl behind them, who then hides in a playscape tunnel.
If Angela is with them, she says that the girl looks exactly like the one she and Andrew met in the woods, but in different clothes. Daniel offers her his hand, but instead of the girl, Mary grabs him. The group sees Mary hiding in a barrel and asking them to be quiet. The priest appears and and pulls Mary out, scolding her and telling her not to talk about their secret.
- If Daniel decides to intervene, he grabs the priest by the arm. The priest feels the touch and, thinking that Mary has put a spell on him, backhands her.
- If Daniel asks what it is, he suggests that the others get out. Mary asks them not to leave her, while the priest, not seeing them, thinks that Mary is turning to evil. Daniel receives the locked trait Baffled.
Mary says that Amy is in league with the devil, after which the priest says that he finds out the truth and takes her away.
- If Angela is with them, she confirms that it was Mary and there could be a connection between the girls.
After leaving the playground, Daniel can find a picture on a picnic table. The group sees the general store in the distance and, thinking that they can find help there, go there. Before doing this, Daniel must perform a QTE to help Taylor down the cliff.
Following the trail, the group reaches the store and looks for a way through it. While looking for a way out, Daniel can find:
- Protest signs.
- Runestones in the shack.
- Protest posters.
Daniel can get to the store by going up the stairs to the second floor or by pushing a dumpster to the window of the first floor (with Taylor's aid and with the completion of a QTE) and then interacting with it again:
- If Daniel entered via the dumpster, he is on the first floor and is unable to explore the second.
- If Daniel decides to climb the stairs, he asks Taylor to throw him her phone, since it is too dark inside.
- If Daniel fails QTE, the phone breaks down and Taylor angrily tells him to buy her a new one after they get out of here. Daniel climbs without light and, without seeing a hole, fall down and have no chance to search above.
- If Daniel completes QTE, he catches the phone and use his flashlight to explore the second floor, where he can find:
On the first floor, Daniel picks up a flashlight on the floor and can try to open the door, but in vain, after which Taylor says that she will find another way. Passing the shelves, he hears rustles and hides. A Keep Calm segment begins.
- If Daniel fails the Keep Calm, he falls and knock over one of the shelves, closing access to the cash registers, where the keychain lie.
- If Daniel completes the Keep Calm, he is able to explore the cash registers.
As he walks, Daniel is frightened by an unexpected knock, but it turns out to be Taylor, who was able to climb through the hole in the fence and tell him to go to the front door. Approaching the door, Daniel hears rustles behind him and turns around to see a rat running by and Amy grabbing him.
Daniel ends up at Amy's house and listens to Amy's dialogue with her husband Joseph. She worries that she is taken away because of accusations of witchcraft and that she does not know who said this.
- If Daniel decides to leave, despite Amy's pleas, he opens the door and let in the priest and a marshal, who arrests Amy.
- If Daniel decides to approach the couple, Joseph notices him and ask if he knows about the charges.
- If Daniel says that he doesn't know him, he calls him John, while Joseph says that he has changed, even his attire, thinking that he is David. Joseph opens the door and Amy is arrested.
- If Daniel tells about the girl and the priest, Amy understands that Mary blames her, since she saw Amy in the woods and doesn't like her chiding her. Joseph doesn't believe this, claiming how even if Mary is a problematic child, this is still beyond her. Joseph opens the door and Amy is arrested.
Daniel exits the store and Taylor, noticing his anxiety, asks what happened. Daniel can tell about Angela and John's doubles, how they could see and hear him, how they were married, how Amy was arrested and priest. Taylor comments that they returned to the road instead of getting out of town.
- In single-player, the group continues walking while someone is following them.
- In Shared Story, the group must wait outside the general store until the player in the other chapter finishes their segment. Daniel can examine a poster on the side of the store and an electrical pole. Eventually, Taylor notices the police station and the group goes there.
