We each have our own demons. They are ours and ours alone...
This article is about The Dark Pictures Anthology's second installment, Little Hope .

There's talk that I am in league with the Devil, that I am guilty of witchcraft!

Amy Lambert is a supporting character and subsequently an antagonist in The Dark Pictures Anthology's second installment, Little Hope. She was one of the Puritans involved in the witch trials of Little Hope in 1692, and one of its victims. She was voiced and motion captured by Louise Atkins and was modelled on Rachel Dobell. Her motion capture performance was assisted by Kerry Norton.

Appearance[]

Amy is an older woman with a white complexion and wrinkled skin. She has clear blue eyes and medium long hazel hair, combed with two bangs on the sides and tied into French braids, as seen during her execution.

Amy wears traditional clothing for Puritan women. It includes a large white bonnet, a black dress with white cuffs on the arms and neck (the latter complete with a large knot), a white apron and a pair of brown leather shoes with black laces. On her first appearance, Amy wears a long hooded cloak that hides her face. During the execution, Amy wears a simple white dress down to her feet and is stained in mud.

Personality []

Amy is a calm and reserved woman, as befits a traditional Puritan. Yet, she is notable for her aggressive attitude toward those she dislikes, often speaking with them in a bitter tone. Another notable trait of Amy's is her religiosity and strong intolerance of all things related to witchcraft.

Upon finding herself accused of witchcraft, Amy becomes anxious, worrying for her life and not knowing what to do. After being sentenced to execution, she falls into despair, but is still determined to bring the truth about Mary being truly evil to Little Hope.

Biography[]

Amy was born in the early 1640s and was later married to fellow Puritan Joseph. In 1692, Amy was involved in the witch trials after she scolded Mary, who in turn accused Amy of witchcraft. Subsequently, Amy was sentenced to death and executed by being drowned in a river.

Three centuries later, in 2019, Amy returned as the Drowned Demon and began to haunt a group of college people, specifically her double Angela, in an attempt to kill her reincarnation.

Main Story[]

Act 1[]

Amy first appears in the first flashback, where she finds Mary dancing by the fire and begins to scold the girl, considering her games to be witches' rituals. As Andrew and Angela rise from the ground, Amy notices the two and walks away in shock. Mary follows her and calls Amy by name, revealing it to the protagonists. Later, Amy encounters the protagonists again (John and possibly Angela) while doing her daily business. She tries to leave, but John stops her, causing Amy's hood to fall off. As the protagonists are shocked to see that Amy looks exactly like Angela, she says she will not succumb to the witch's spell and leaves.

Amy is mentioned in the dialogue between Reverend Carver and Mary, where the latter, after seeing Amy talking to the protagonists, accuses her of witchcraft. Carver believes her, and after a while, along with Marshall Isaac, heads to the Lambert home. Meanwhile, Amy and Joseph confront Daniel and the trio discuss accusations about Amy. Joseph, despite his wife's pleas, lets the priest in and tries to settle the conflict, but fails and Amy gets arrested.

During the trial, Carver begins to assert that Amy is a witch and cannot be trusted. Amy begins to make excuses saying that she is on the side of the faithful and the accusations are just spiteful imaginings when Mary begins to have a seizure. Carver claims it was Amy's doing and to prove her theory, tells her to touch Mary. As Amy touches Mary, the seizure disappears and Amy becomes condemned as a witch and sentenced to death, much to her horror.

For the last time, Amy appears at a river, where she is seen bound in chains. Amy asks for help from Andrew and John, but from Carver's perspective, he sees her turning to the void. Thinking that Amy is appealing to the Devil for help, Carver orders Isaac to chain her tighter. He says they must execute Amy before the Devil comes for them, to which she replies that Little Hope is already poisoned from within and as long as Mary is alive, the town will be beyond salvation. Carver ignores her words and orders Isaac to throw Amy into the water, whereupon she drowns.

Act 2[]

Amy is mentioned by Joseph during his encounter with Daniel and Taylor, where he says he had to pull his wife's body out of the water and buried her with dignity.

Act 3[]

Amy is mentioned by Wyman during his conversation with Carver and by Carver himself during Joseph's execution. It is clear from their words that Amy's "service" to evil forces was one of the reasons for accusing Joseph of witchcraft.

Relationships []

Mary[]

Amy often scolded Mary for her strange games, which Amy considered to be acts of witchcraft. Thus, when the opportunity arose, Mary accused Amy of witchcraft and faked a seizure during the trial to convince the residents that Amy was indeed a witch. Before her execution, Amy believed that Mary was the source of evil in Little Hope and must be stopped

Joseph[]

The two deeply loved and cared for each other. When Amy was accused of witchcraft, Joseph stood up for his wife during her arrest and trial as well as trying to stop the execution. After Amy's death, Joseph pulled her body out of the water and buried her with dignity. He also began to believe in her words about Mary and tried to prove them.
