A Conversation with Death is song featured in The Dark Pictures Anthology. It is a rendition of the traditional American folk song called Oh Death. The song is performed by an American doom metal band Khemmis in the epic doom genre. It was released on a split 7” called Fraught With Peril in June 2017, along with Man of Constant Sorrow by Spirit Adrift.
This epic, yet somber song follows a dialogue between Death and a dying man. The man begs to be spared and is ready to offer anything in return, but Death refuses him, saying that his time has come and it is inevitable. Unlike the original, this version ends in a dark tone, with Death telling the man that his soul is doomed to eternal suffering in hell.
